Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is currently replacing the Parallel SCSI interface. "Serialisation" was the only way to continue making progress in connecting mass storage appliances as the speed and mechanical dimension of the parallel SCSI interface had reached the limits. Compact connectors, higher speeds, easier configurations are the characteristics of SAS from which the user and system benefit.  This practically focused presentation will explain all you need to know about SAS, the interface, opportunities and terminology.

Building effective vendor relationships: results from the IDC's Storage Channel Survey
